Voted for Horror, cause there are no Vampires to choose
I don`t know exactly why but I`m torn between stuff like Boood+/Hellsing and Shoujo stuf like LC etc. I don`t like DBZ etc. , but I suppose its cause on the TV there are mostly cut to death animes in the afternoon (Kids Tv...). |

I think horror is the best overall.... But I love if they combine a really neat horror/gore with a cute/lovey, or psychological bit.... Like Elfen Lied. Amazing.

Haha. Before I go in to my post, I had a bit of dilemna choosing. Hahaha... in the end went for shoujo romance
Well not the easy kind, or those with too much inferiority complex. I really like romance+comedy, suspense, violence, fantasy, adventure, school life...(and the list goes on) However I still enjoy shounen stuff like Naruto, bleach, and big mechs fighting off in space But I am also very open to other genre. Maybe except an anime I didn't continue watching:Zipang. |

I voted on psychological. While most psychological series are extremely confusing and hard to understand, once you do make sense of them, you feel a kind of pride and more often than not, once you understand the point of a psychological anime, you'll usually be gasping something along the lines of, "Wow, that's so profound! How did I miss that?"
Just think of series like Boogiepop Phantom, Monster, Ghost in the Shell (Innocence, Stand Alone Complex), Ergo Proxy, Paranoia Agent, and even The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. Each of these series has their own very unique meaning: some relates to the abstract concept of love, others to the human nature, some even go so far as to redefine the meaning of good and evil. The thing I really enjoy about psychological animes is that they aren't as black-and-white story wise as most other animes. While I enjoy (VERY MUCH) the other types of animes, it's refreshing to actually ponder the meaning behind the anime. Most psychological animes are shades of gray, so it's all up to the viewer's interpretation, whereas most genres have a solid plot line that gives you everything at face value. While I know this isn't true for every series in the other genres, I'm generalizing to avoid going into those details. In addition to this, most anime series themselves are, at base, a psychological series. While some would classify Hellsing, Blood+, Elfen Lied, and etc. as only horror, it's also just as easy to classify them as psychological too, since they twist the aspects of an accepted reality and make you question what you take for granted. While I do enjoy watching other types of anime, I tend to revolve that schedule around any new psychological series that pops up. -------------------- Disclaimer:
The content above is extremely disturbing in more ways than one. Do not read if you are faint of heart. That reminds me, if you've made it down here, then it's a tad late for what remains of your mind, isn't it? :) I bet you regret inviting me now Munky. ![]() |

I like Shoujo,Romance, although I like historical and psychological also...>> But if I had to pick just one, it would be Shoujo/Romance. The Horror mangas are good sometimes, and I'm often really dense about the "gorry" stuff that happens. >>
It's like Blood + I don't really see any of the guts, all I see is the blood. o_o; |

I like a good mix of comedy and shoujo. Plus supernatural. I'm watching Ghost Hunt right now. All time favorites are Fruits Basket and Full Metal Panic.

Because I'm a terminal fan of yaoi, I voted but this but I changed my mind right after voting... when we're talking anime, most of the BL ones kinda suck (and I'm not trying to go for a bad pun here! lol)
The genre that I prefer to watch is usually shounen/action/adventure. For me, this is what fits with the medium. I'm a reader before anything else so for every other genre I'd read the manga rather than watch the anime... Shoujo anime is always unsatisfying because the manga has so much more stuff details in it... |
